Talk To You - Week One - Day Two

I wrote this song this morning. Had so much fun that I had to jam out to it when recording it. Enjoy

Talk To you

So much for believing nothing
I can’t help but believe in something
Sunday mornings bring blurry visions
From Saturday’s sacreligion

It’s all so true
I’m believing in the two
With you at my side
There’s just nothing I can’t prove
No need to save a thing for rainy days
All I need do is talk to you

No need for the holy gospel
I’ve heard enough of those clanging church bells
I’ve had enough of the TV prophets
My messiah is in my pocket

It’s all so true
I’m believing in you
Shout to the sky
Confessions of the truth
No need to pray for things to be ok
All I need do is talk to you

Look again
At the so called words of wisdom in the tomes
So many rules now
With cryptic caustic cautionary tones
It’s nothing new
All I can do
Is talk to you

So much for believing nothing
I can’t help but believe in something
Listen close to my sordid sermon
From the mountain of devolution

It’s all so true
I’m believing in the two
With you at my side
There’s just nothing I can’t prove
No need to save a thing for rainy days
All I need do is talk to you

It's been too long since I have heard you sing... I actually had tears in my eyes... a great song by a great writer and friend... I know this because you're the reason I made it through creative writing in college...lol

Luv,
Tashia

Thanks Tash

I thought that the beer and Dr Hook was what got us through college though

Holy ambition Songdog!
Great idea Rich & I really like both tunes you've posted so far. Lots of great imagery & phrasing... Are you intending for these songs to evolve or are they done once they're posted? Is there a place to hear the 10 previously unreleased songs you alluded to?
Your Public awaits!
Later, Lars.

Hey Lars

It's easy to be ambitious when unemployed...lol

I am sure the songs will suffer, as will the listeners' when I get a job.
These are just basics as I am trying to work on the songwriting process instead of arranging, instrumentation, and sound quality. Hopefully some of these will be "keepers' and I'll record them with more attention to such details in the future. Wish me luck.

I'll probably at least do up a myspace page when I get some recorded better.

Sounds like you found the happiness you were lookimg for. This song shows it. I have to be honest I still like your solos. Quick comment about the next song you will write, use the daily happenings in your life like taking puppies for a walk and watching them storm like lightning. My point is to use your real life experiences, words will come easier. You know the Sahin family are big fans of the phrasemonger. Keep them coming...
P.S. love the guitars..... Gok.
